Empower UX capability and Data Platform updates

Overview

An upgraded user experience has been introduced, allowing users to effortlessly extract metadata from a diverse range of sources on the Data Sources page.

Significant improvements have been implemented, including optimizing the existing ingestion engine, resulting in reduced latency and better overall performance.

We have begun the process of refactoring and upgrading data source connectors to leverage a new, unreleased Spark-based ingestion engine, empowering customers with faster and more efficient data processing capabilities.

What's New

In our most recent update, our team has focused on enhancing the user experience and improving the performance of our software platform.

Empower UX Updates:

• We are thrilled to announce a new feature update that brings an upgraded user experience to our software platform, allowing users to effortlessly extract metadata from the Data Source page. With this update, users can conveniently initiate metadata extraction from various databases, including Azure MariaDB, Azure SQL DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure MySQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Our new interface allows easy access to the extraction process, saving time and effort.

• Known UX Issue(s):

  • While users will be able to realize metadata extraction for the aforementioned data source types, they will not yet be able to view or edit that metadata from the Empower UI.

Data Platform Updates:

• We have implemented significant improvements, such as optimizing the existing ingestion engine, resulting in reduced latency and better overall performance. These enhancements will provide users with faster data ingestion speeds.
• Furthermore, we have begun the process of refactoring and upgrading data source connectors to leverage a new, unreleased Spark-based ingestion engine. This upcoming release will empower our customers with faster and more efficient data processing capabilities.

Bug Fixes

• Miscellaneous connector bug fixes
• Miscellaneous UI bug fixes
